About Us

The Mt Wellington Charitable Trust is a subsidiary of The Mt Wellington Licensing Trust and the cash grants from the Charitable Trust help out a range of community groups and people including the funding of scholarships for university fees as well as Outward Bound and Spirit of New Zealand funding for local high school students. They also provide funding to refurbish sports facilities, for the provision of equipment for low decile schools, and to care for the elderly.
The Trust is managed by local residents who are connected to the needs of the community. There are six permanent and three co-opted Trustees who act as custodians for the available funds Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre.
As The Trust’s first stand-alone conference centre, the Highbrook Suites, which opened in 2013, extends and complements the existing facilities at Waipuna Hotel.
With increasing profits from these assets (the Waipuna Hotel and Conference Centre and Highbrook Conference Suites), the Board is in the happy position to consider more applications for support from worthy causes in the area.
The Giving is Good brand has been created so that clients of Waipuna understand the direct positive effects their custom has on the local community.

COVID-19 Information
In these unprecedented times, I wanted to let you know about what we are doing here at Waipuna to support you and your events. As the situation around novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety and security of our people and our guests.
Pink Ribbon Breakfast
May is Pink Ribbon Breakfast month, a chance to invite friends for breakfast and raise funds for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
The Foundation hopes New Zealanders will host more than 2000 Pink Ribbon Breakfasts, a big jump on 1700 held around the country in May 2013, which raised $750,000. Proceeds from this year's breakfasts will go towards breast cancer research. The Pink Ribbon Breakfast campaign, scheduled for May 2020, has been postponed due to COVID-19. More details to follow soon

Highbrook is a wonderful purpose-built, modern facility that we thoroughly enjoy using multiple
times throughout the year for training courses or meetings.
The facilities are top-notch and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. The catering is of a
very high quality with good selections, and they are easily able to cater to the myriad of dietary
requirements of some of our attendees. We would definitely recommend that you consider the
